The Artist

The “Floating World” is a collection of semi- autobiographical works from Melbourne-based artist Medina Krluch. Inspired by mysterious and avant-garde figures, her graphic, painterly style can be described as gothic realism meets science-fiction. Medina’s work focuses on the ambiguity of beauty and what little peculiarities serve to offset it. Bathed in dutch lighting, her paintings depict silhouette-heavy figures clad with deep pigments, echoing the extremes of her conscious and the subconscious mind.
